WHALE & DOLPHIN WORKSHOP

The Jervis Bay Whale Festival and marine mammal research ran a WHALE & DOLPHIN WORKSHOP for those that would like to become a citizen scientist volunteer to help contribute to marine mammal research and learn about the migrating humpback and southern right whales and the resident pod of bottlenose dolphins that live within Jervis Bay and pass the east coast of Australia. Each volunteer received marine mammal research ID kit and along with the mornings educational lectures on marine mammal detection, data recording and reporting and then on the water observations onboard Dolphin Watch Cruises.

The afternoon was spent land based spotting over 24 whales passed the Cape St George Historic Lighthouse, Booderee National Park. All citizen scientist volunteer are ready to support the ORRCA whale count day on the 30th June.
